When Y was tiny, everyone looked at us with so much warmth, they helped us, guided us, and loved to hold our boy. Now, we have a toddler and the same people think twice before inviting us or visiting us, they don't get excited about holding Y unless they enjoy being pulled and punched, they look at us with eyes full of pity and they think of us as control-less freaks. People without kids judge us in all possible ways and think that they will be way better at parenting than us. Hahahaha. Let's forgive them, they have no idea what they are going to deal with. Here is a glimpse of what we are dealing with now a days: One day, Y was crying because he could not wear his shoes-over his sandals which were already there on his feet. Another day, he was crying because he ate spicy chips and he wanted water but when we offered water, he was mad because he wanted chips not water. His favorite rhymes and cartoons change everyday, ofcourse he can't update us verbally about it so he keeps crying till we figure out what he wants to watch. He loves to see new faces but he hates to be touched and picked by strangers. He loves car rides. Car rides are super fun, he sits silently and observes his surroundings but each trip ends with him yelling and crying to not get back inside home. He prefers a never ending car ride. He loves to play with a ball so we also got him a bat. Now he loves to carry the bat around but he won't play with it. Seems that the bat is only for tashan. He hates our laptop and mobile, he hates everything that distracts us from him. While we work, he plays with his grandmum but whenever he gets a chance, he barges in and slams the laptop shut. And the list is never ending..
Explaining something to a toddler is impossible, it's like trying to explain what color the number 4 smells like.Toddlers are the most exhausting-craziest-messiest-unresonable-short tempered-unstable people but yet you can't imagine your life without them. Just when we feel like losing our shit, Y surprises us with his dimpled-baby face, tight squishy hugs, sloppy kisses, and heavenly giggles. He is too small to express verbally but very smart to express himself by all other possible means. Considering that Y is devilish but still incredibly cute, we have decided to hang in here and enjoy his toddlership and to wait for his teenage years to start whining again.
