Hello Yuvaan,
2020 has been challenging and uncertain. It has been full of up and downs. The next challenge in our list is mama going back to work. The good news is this that for now, I will be working from home and the bad news is this that now, you won't have my undivided attention since I will have other things to focus on.
Since the time you were born, I have been around you dedicatedly, I have constantly been your go-to person and your primary caretaker. Now, things will change. Your caretakers will take turns. Sometimes it will be your grandparents, sometimes your dad, and sometimes me. I am excited yet anxious about this change but I know that everyone in the family loves you very much and you will be taken care of.
You must be thinking: why? Why do mommy need to leave the way things are and begin a new chapter. Well, there are two reasons. First is this that I am an individual, I have my own ambitions and aspirations and second is this that this will help you start being independent. As i read somewhere, "the role of a mother is not just being someone to lean on; the role of a mother is to make leaning-on unnecessary." The change is going to be tough but it will be worth it. It will make us more organised. It will make us value and cherish our weekends. It will also keep my mind occupied and i won't obsessively worry about you.
How will we get through this is still a mystery. I plan to take one day at a time. I plan to have patience and prioritize things. You are too small to understand stuff but you will surely notice the change and when you notice the change, I want you to be a little patient and kind towards me. I want you to be receptive towards comfort provided by other family members. Remember that no matter what, you were-are-will be my priority. I might get busy in a meeting and might not respond to your calls, I might not give you a bath, feed you, and put you to sleep but don't worry about all that, you are a big boy now. Very soon, you will be able to manage those things yourself, till then, your dad will help. Together, we will sail through it, just like we have been sailing through the other tiny little challenges of life. One day you will be proud of having a happy, independent, self-made, and hardworking mother and i will be proud of my happy, kind, understanding, patient, and independent kid.
Love-
Mama
